developing a technique in an interior design context, it became apparent that the industrial materials i had been using could be translated into everyday wearable objects that could proliferate beauty and sincere sentiment, contain myriad surprises within each piece, and ultimately safely withstand the new demands of daily life.
in the wake of all we have collectively endured, all we are still experiencing, i have witnessed a fear of flaunting material valuables amidst so much loss, and though i sympathize, entirely giving up the small pleasures of giving, wearing, seeing an object valued only for the gladness it brings-- that instinct to proliferate beauty-- is a facet of our humanity we should insist upon.
